The Lady C occurrence area is mapped as being underlain by diorite and granodiorite of the Early to Middle Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite (formerly called the Island Intrusions).

An iron ore deposit (the Lady C) was located in the area in the early 1950's and is probably similar to the jasper-hosted Lady D deposit (092B 076) which occurs on strike several kilometres to the southeast. The Lady D is an exhalative-type iron ore deposit, consisting primarily of magnetite, occurring in the Devonian Nitinat Formation, Sicker Group
